friday afternoon i drove down to visit andrea in portland for the weekend. friday afternoon we went hiking in the columbia gorge. it was a nice 4.5 mile roundtrip to a great viewpoint. after hiking we visited multnomah falls.
saturday we did a kayak trip up one of the tributaries to the willamette river. it was my first time kayaking...it was a lot of fun! we then went down to downtown portland for the market. there was plenty of people watching to be had - street artists, vendors, hippies, and even a dude wearing way less than he should have (think bright green thong) dancing in a fountain. all in all a good weekend outside! i even have the sunburn to prove it.
