Just to let you know we're still here...

Hello, special guest here...The Fiancee. Since Shaun has been keeping himself busy with hunting and fishing (oh, yeah, and school) he's left his poor readers in the dark. Never fear, though, I am here to let you all know what Shaun has been doing with his time lately: hunting and fishing. He claims his fishing season for 2009 has ended, having logged 38 days. This makes more time for hunting in its various forms. He and Joel headed for the wilderness for four days and succeeded in getting a nice buck for Joel, and Shaun spent an afternoon slaying something for the freezer as well. Duck hunting is his current preoccupation, which entails cold, early mornings, and wading in rivers that ice chunks are floating down. Sounds like a 'blast' to me! Here's some recent pictures.

In other news, he proposed in September. There's pictures from that expedition, but they involve his betrothed wearing some really cool camo, so unless he gets a wild hare to update this thing himself, they're not going to make it on here. If it's any consolation, there aren't any pictures of the actual proposal, so you're not missing anything. The wedding planning is underway; we've got our place booked for July 24th, my dress has been purchased, as have the bridesmaids' dresses, the photographer is in the bag, and the most important part: the pig roast is all sorted out. Here's a quick photographic tour of our lives since July.

We crammed all of Yellowstone Park into one day of adventures for our 1st anniversary, and went on several outdoor adventures through the summer. Shaun attempted to teach me to flyfish, and we went on a hike or two in there somewhere. We had Thanksgiving at my parents home in Wyoming, and his folks drove down and joined us, which was fun, and we'll be heading up to his family's stomping grounds for Christmas time. Other than that, life isn't very photographic, since it's ridiculously cold and 'indoors-y' these days. We're counting down the days to the wedding (oh, wait, that may just be me...7 months, 10 days, for anyone who wants to join me), and whiling our evenings away with books and other sundry entertainments. But, for the devoted readers out there, Shaun is alive and kicking (himself, for getting roped into marrying me), as am I. Happy holidays!
Cheers,
Emily
