last night emily and i headed to looie's down under in bozeman. we had a gift certificate to burn that i had won at my xmas party for work. with 100 bucks to burn we could do some real damage. i ended up eating bison for the first time, it was excellent. emily had some fancy chicken (and creme brulee) that she deemed excellent as well. it was a fun evening, we went away stuffed!
today i decided to head down to my usual winter spot on the upper madison. it was quite deserted as per norm. on the way down there i spotted (i think) a wolf off the side of the road. fishing was fantastic, with 15 trout to hand over 4-5 hours. the biggest was a 17.5" rainbow. one other guy joined me on the river. he managed about 15-20 fish. on the way home i saw about 500-700 elk along the river on their winter range. one smallish 6x6 and a ton of cows and spikes. til next time...
